The module aims to promote increased understanding of the factors facilitating the development of self and the learning of others with a view to influencing work based practice.

Eligibility

This module is open to all students registered on a relevant degree programme. This module can also be taken as a stand-alone CPD module. For students who have not previously studied at HE level 2 or level 3, an interview will be required.

Work/Clinical Placement Requirements

The module requires you to be:
  • Working in a suitable practice area.

English Requirements

For those students whose first language is not English one of the following qualifications is also required:

  • IELTS: 7.0
  • TOEFL (internet-based): 107

What will I learn?

The module will enable you to:

  • Identify professional development needs for self and others
  • Identify and evaluate ways in which they can promote their own personal and professional development in a multi professional environment
  • Contribute to the development of others and to be able to critically reflect on your skills

Teaching and Assessment

Mode of delivery
Teaching methods include critical reading, discussion groups, lecture / discussion, seminar sessions and guided study.

Assessment
Assessment for the module consists of an essay composed of "patches" of work undertaken during the module and reflection on the students own learning.
