Airline Operational Regulatory Compliance Course overview
This module has been designed for current and future aviation professional intending to carry out Operational Management duties in the maintenance and operational airline environment. It will establish an understanding of regulatory compliance as the basic to normal operations and maintenance of company reputation and market share. It will provide students with the knowledge required to develop and implement formal Compliance Monitoring Systems for Airline operations.
The module is based on the requirements of ISO 9000, PART-ORO to EC Reg. 965/2012, EC Reg. 1321/2014 (Part M). The functioning of the EU aviation regulatory system, including the role of EASA is also explained.
At the end of this module, you will be able to:
- Formulate the fundamental principles of Quality management and the content of ISO 9000.
- Demonstrate the application of Part-ORO/Part-M.
- Research and define Organisational requirements of AOC holders.
- Evaluate and report failures of quality and safety and take remedial action.
- Develop and synthesize the integration of Safety and Quality.
- Explain the functioning of the EU aviation regulatory system.

- Demonstrate the application of fundamental principles of Part-ORO to individual tasks
- Assess the requirements to manage an air transport operation to the safety and quality standards of the Regulator
- Research and define the Organisational requirements of an AOC holder.
- Evaluate and report failures of quality and safety and take remedial action.
- Develop and synthesize the integration of Safety and Quality in an Organisation.
- Understand the functioning of the EU aviation regulatory system and the responsibilities of EASA.

Assessment and certificates

You will be given numerous opportunities to articulate your knowledge of the subject and display your leadership and problem solving skills.
There is no assessment or coursework with this CPD. Students will be asked to submit a reflective journal about the topics covered and will receive a certificate of participation.

Prior to the module you will receive a welcome letter stipulating the necessary prereading. As regulatory compliance is a constantly developing area, the pre course reading is mainly to be found on industry web sites. As part of the module activity you will be given guidance on reading materials to use to prepare for class. You will also be encouraged to seek out self-directed additional material related to issues being explored as presented in Module’s specifications.
