Social sport (CityActive)
There are plenty of Sports on offer at City, which are not competitive and purely just for social. Taking time away from your studies to unwind, relax and look after your wellbeing physically is very important for overall health.
Our CityActive programme provides you with the opportunity to take part in sport without the need of being competitive or having to try out for a specific team. This is a great way to meet new friends, socialise with a group of a friends or just to take part in regular sport.
Volunteering, coaching and officiating opportunities
A lot of our Sports clubs are looking for people to get involved without having to compete. The opportunities range from report writing, social media, photographer/videographer, kit and equipment manager along with many other different ways to get involved with Sport at City.

Our annual Varsity series against the Kingston Cougars is one of the most popular in the Wolfpack sporting calendar. 36 teams compete against 10 different sports over three days of sporting action in a bid to claim the trophy.
Even if you don’t want to compete there are lots of opportunities to get involved. We have lots of volunteer opportunities including being involved in the varsity organising committee, event photography, match reporting, officiating, mascot roles, to name a few.
Or if that isn’t for you, you can simply come along and cheer on your university teams! If you are interested in finding out about our volunteering or officiating opportunities, please email sports@City.ac.uk.
