Covid-19 update: The learning doesn’t have to stop, join our online community. We are aiming to deliver courses remotely until further notice. Live tutor support and virtual lessons will take place during advertised teaching hours. The classes are taught in small groups, so you’ll get lots of support from your tutor.

Why study creative writing at City, University of London?


City short courses offer creative writing programmes that cater for both novice and seasoned writers, whether you are interested in writing children's books, novels, short stories newspaper articles , websites or blogs.


You can study for one term only or across three terms. Further progression can be attained through the well-established Novel Studio 12-month programme.


The writing courses provide students with the opportunity to study from beginner to advanced levels and gain an understanding of writing styles and techniques.
