Jasmin Kaur Chahal

Mechanical Engineering (MEng) MEng

Jasmin Chahal was awarded a Worshipful Company of Leathersellers Scholarship at the Annual Scholarships, Prizes and Bursaries Evening, January 2013.

Why were you awarded the scholarship?

In my foundation year I excelled throughout - trying my utmost and taking all the free time I had to create an outcome I wanted to attain allowed me to receive a scholarship. My mark was 86% - the highest mark attained in the whole course out of 50 plus students.

How has the scholarship helped you?

Due to the intensity of the course and having to put all free time into studying and not searching for part-time employment, it has allowed for financial freedom and assisted in day-to-day expenditure.

What do you enjoy most about your course?

I enjoy the modules as there is a diverse learning curve in each individual lecture, also the hands-on practical experiments open up a new world of knowledge in real-world engineering.

What do you plan to do after you graduate?

I plan on completing my masters at City, University of London. Then work towards a chartership in Mechanical Engineering and fulfil a career in oil and gas.
