About

Overview

Jim joined City Law School in 2006 as a senior lecturer. Between 2000 - 2008 Jim Palmer presented training seminars around the country on management skills for lawyers and report-writing and courtroom skills for expert witnesses. In 2003, he became the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers' "Legal trainer of the year".

Jim practised as a solicitor for 25 years, 15 as a partner in a large regional practice running a department of 50 staff with a £6 million plus turnover.

He specialised in mental health and personal injury work and was a member of the Law Society Mental Health and Personal Injury Panels. Jim is an Emeritus Fellow of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers.

His areas of interests are Law firm management, personal injury, costs and funding, expert witnesses. He is co-author of the second edition of "The Civil Litigation Handbook" published by the Law Society in 2007.
