City partners with consultancy Vested to deliver "Pitching Campaigns" module, providing hands-on career experience for marcomms and PR students.

City, University of London today announces it has partnered with financial services specialist consultancy Vested, to deliver a series of initiatives through 2024 and 2025 to support new talent joining the industry.

City was recently crowned most socially mobile university in the capital. Bringing together experts to from the School of Communication & Creativity, Vested will support students and university leaders on both the existing bachelor’s and new master’s programmes in Marketing Communications, Public Relations and Strategic Communications.

The partnership is focused on bringing agency experience to life for students, with a commitment to running internships, work experience and employability training sessions alongside the co-creation and delivery of the ‘Pitching Campaigns’ module for the MA course.

We are delighted to be partnering with Vested. Our new media, PR and marketing communications master’s programmes are designed to equip students with a mix of theoretical and practical knowledge.

With modules like “Pitching Campaigns”, we are hoping to develop critical thinking in our students, which is a sought-after skill for employers.

The support Vested will be providing around employability will benefit all of our students as they look at life beyond academia and take their skills into the industry.

The new master's programmes will kick off in September 2024. They combine curricula that represent state of the art understanding of the employment market in the UK and in Europe, and theoretical understanding of the respective fields that build the areas of professional practice.

The new suite of programmes will combine new dynamic practices, such as Digital Content Creation, with emergent fields of marketing and strategic communication including health communication, fashion communication and political communication. All our academics are recognised experts in their fields, leading cutting-edge research projects in all areas of communication.

The newly launching MA Marketing Communications is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Marketing UK.
