Applied Biological Sciences Research
The range of subjects encompassed in the Department involve applied research with a strong clinical application in areas such as Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Genetics, Nutrition, Pharmacology and Pathophysiology.
In addition the Department leads on the Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust Nursing Research Project which is a comprehensive project that embraces improving the patient experience through advances in nursing practice associated with varying and debilitating eye conditions.
The Department also serves as the academic lead for the Homerton University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and City University Advanced Practice Colorectal Nursing Research Unit. In this unit a variety of nurse led advanced practice initiatives are undertaken which foster improvements in service delivery that enhance the patient experience in healthcare.
