Courses at the School of Health Sciences

Undergraduate degrees

We offer a range of undergraduate degrees in nursing, midwifery, optometry, radiography, speech and language therapy and human communication. Each course is developed to deliver the core skills and understanding needed to pursue and succeed in these challenging and rewarding careers.

Top-up degrees for health and social care professionals

Our range of post-registration courses for health and social care professionals allow practitioners to "top-up" their existing qualification to degree level or gain a second specialisation. For overseas nurses they provide a route to qualification for practice in the UK.

Graduate entry conversion courses

Our graduate-entry conversion courses allow graduates from other disciplines to gain a pre-registration health qualification in approximately two years as opposed to the usual three or four - providing a fast-track route into health - or gain a second registration in midwifery, health visiting, school and district nursing.

Continuing Professional Development

The School also offers a fully comprehensive range of modules and short courses as part of our CPD portfolio. These allow professionals to build both their skills base and career paths in a modular fashion, linked to or separate from their current role or profession.

Masters degrees

Our flexible postgraduate Masters allow students to further develop clinical skills in specialist practice areas or to develop in-depth knowledge in areas relating to clinical practice, health policy, health management, health research, and leadership.

Foundation degrees

Our foundation level course in ophthalmic dispensing is run in partnership with City and Islington College and provides a strong base
for further study at City.
