Study at City

Undergraduate halls

Undergraduate accommodation is split across four halls, each of which is easily reached from the University:

  • Liberty Court in the historic Smithfields area;
  • Liberty Hall in lively Islington;
  • Liberty House, a two minutes’ walk from the main Campus;
  • The Gardens Halls near the British Library
  • East Central House in Lever Street 5 minutes’ walk from the University.

Guarantee Scheme

City, University of London operates a Guarantee Scheme for first year undergraduates. This Scheme could guarantee you a place in one of City's affiliated Halls if you meet the Scheme's criteria.

Fees & contracts

City, University of London recognises that the cost of living and studying in London can be high. In order to make studying at City affordable and accessible to all our undergraduate students, City, University of London has introduced an accommodation subsidy to reduce the cost of its undergraduate halls of residence. International & exchange students

City, University of London works with several third party housing providers offering safe and modern accommodation within easy travelling distance of the main City buildings. If you are coming to City as an International Student for the full academic year you are eligible to apply for accommodation in City's nominated halls. If you are going to be studying an undergraduate course you will be bound by the conditions of City's accommodation Guarantee Scheme for undergraduate students.

If you are coming to study at City from outside the European Union (EU), you will need to apply for a visa. Our dedicated team of International Student Advisers can assist should you need advice on your application.

Applying for halls

All applications for a place in Halls of Residence associated with City, University of London are made online.

As a first year undergraduate, you will get the chance to apply for accommodation once you have received an offer for a full time course at City, University of London and have firmly accepted this offer. You will be sent an email with a link to the application form.
