The 2023 PhD Forum brings together researchers and senior academics.

The City Law School’s annual PhD Forum on 12th May 2023, brought together doctoral degree researchers and senior academics.

Presentations were made on a variety of topics ranging from space pollution, EU climate policy, environmental protection in Investor-State arbitration, containerisation in international commercial law, law and poltics in international adjudication, war crimes and gendered legal subjectivity.

A panel consisting of Professor Ian Loveland, Dr Tawhida Ahmed and Dr Adrienne Yong awarded prizes for the best presentations to Sahar Sadoughi (‘War crimes at the European Court of Human Rights - the Netherlands & Ukraine v Russia’) and Alexandros-Catalin Bakos (‘When Politics Circles Law: Developing a Toolkit for International Courts and Tribunals’).

Professor Panos Koutrakos, Jean Monnet Professor of EU Law, said:
