Summary
In a domestic and international climate that is increasingly polarised around the current Israel-Hamas war, the purpose of this panel is to enable City students and staff and the wider public to have an honest and respectful conversation about where the war is coming from, where it might be headed, and what are the implications for the international community.
We will start from the analysis provided by a diverse group of academics and policy analysts, who specialise in the international relations of the Middle East, as well as historical relations between Israel and Palestine.
In the spirit of previous events organised by the Middle East and Olive Tree Forum, we want to promote a culture of respectful intellectual engagement, scientific research and continued dialogue. This is especially important when tensions are high and understanding each other, let along finding agreement, seems impossible.
