Emily said:

It feels wonderful to be named as the 2023 BMUS Champion! This award came as a complete surprise at the end of an incredibly busy year, and I am thankful to those who nominated me – it was so humbling to read their comments, and reflect on the impact that my teaching and research activities have had in contributing to the advancement of our practice and professional community. I have a passion for all things ultrasound, and I consider it a huge privilege to be able to do what I do. However, these achievements would not be possible on my own; I would like to thank everyone who has offered their support, advice and kindness along the way, particularly my colleagues at City – this award is for us all.

Chris O’Sullivan, Co-Head of the Department of Midwifery and Radiography and Senior Lecturer (Radiography) in the School of Health & Psychological Sciences, said:

I would like to send Emily my heartfelt congratulations on this wonderful achievement. It is truly well deserved. It has been a pleasure working with Emily in 2023 and I am looking forward to what the future holds. I know Emily’s students and our clinical partners are also very appreciative of the support she has given them in recent years.
