In its first full inspection by Ofsted, City receives ‘Good’ rating for its apprenticeship programmes
By City Press Office (City Press Office), Published
Ofsted carried out its first full inspection in October 2023, following the New Provider Monitoring visit in June 2021, and rated City’s apprenticeship programmes ‘Outstanding’ in the Behaviour and attitudes category, and ‘Good’ overall.
Dr Sionade Robinson, Vice-President (Enterprise, Engagement & Employability), said:
Ofsted is the Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills, who inspect services providing education and skills for learners of all ages.
The inspection examines what it is like to be a learner with each provider, what the provider does well and what it needs to do better and looks at safeguarding arrangements.
Sionade said:
City works closely with employers to help develop and retain their best talent and create programmes that address skills gaps and meet businesses’ goals and objectives.
Matt Bungay, Head of Apprenticeships, said:
City currently offers five apprenticeships, at L5 to degree-level or equivalent, combining on-the-job training with study for a higher qualification, helping progress an apprentice’s career and give employers the highly skilled and knowledgeable workforce a business needs. City will be launching further apprenticeship courses in 2024.
