Performances
Joseph Bell picked up a guitar at age 13 and began performing around his hometown of Shrewsbury the year after.
After moving to London, Bell released his debut EP 'Dancing Days' in November 2020, gaining support from online blogs and BBC Radio 1. His 2021 single 'Lost Souls' led to a live session and interview for BBC Introducing Shropshire, alongside gigs across the UK including multiple performances at iconic London venues such as Ronnie Scott's and the Troubadour.
Having built up a loyal following on the London live scene, Bell released his second EP 'Hits' in July 2023 to a sold out launch party, showcasing a polished alt-pop sound and focusing on finding identity in the digital age.
Joseph recorded another live session for BBC Introducing in November, and is currently acting as Creative in Residence at City University.
Chloe Carterr with 2 R's is an amazing content creator, spoken word poet and co-founder of Underground Barz.
She has been the face and voice for brands such as Barbour International, Heineken's Inch's cider and most recently the lead content creator in a viral campaign for TikTok UK.
Here as a creative resident at City, Chloe says: "I'm really here to connect with people through poetry, my poetry speaks to the hearts of the people that need it the most."
Sound Demo
Extended reality for the ears: Aaron Einbond, Reader in Music, and Leo Chadburn, Performance Officer, will lead a demonstration situating listeners in the midst of a virtual acoustic environment in the College Building Performance Space.
The demo features SPARC Lab, an immersive 3-D sound and movement system hosted by the SPARC (Sound Practice and Research @ City) research centre in the Department of Performing Arts and generously supported by a Creative Research Capability (CResCa) grant from the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) on which Aaron is principal investigator.
Attendance at City events is subject to our terms and conditions.
