Alt-folk singer-songwriter Amy Hollinrake performs songs from her critically acclaimed EP Sad Lady Songs Vol.1, accompanied by pianist Ben Smith. Hollinrake's work draws on women's stories within folklore and mythology and fuses them with a contemporary sound placing her at the forefront of the new era of feminist neo-folk.

About Amy Hollinrake
Amy Hollinrake’s work draws on women's stories within folklore and mythology and fuses them with a contemporary sound, placing her at the forefront of the new era of neo-folk.
She has performed at Cambridge Folk Festival, and at venues including Cambridge Junction, Green Note, Kings Place, and the Royal Albert Hall, with her music garnering attention from BBC 6 Music's Marc Riley and Tom Robinson, BBC Introducing and BBC Radio 4 Woman's Hour.
Hollinrake is also the founder of project Loathly Lady, a creative feminist cataloguing project exploring gendered narratives in traditional music. This launched last year alongside a zine publication at Cafe OTO. She is a former awardee of EFDSS and the Bert Jansch Foundation for her work. Other projects include facilitating English National Opera's programme Breathe. Her vocals have also appeared on projects for Disney and 20th Century Fox.
