About the speakers
Mars El Brogy - Award-winning broadcaster, journalist and multimedia executive with experience leading teams at the BBC, Islam Channel, Evening Standard and The Independent.
Mars is also patron of the National Student Television Association, and a staunch advocate for media diversity through her work with the Royal Television Society Futures.
Rizwana Hamid - Director of the Centre for Media Monitoring.
Rizwana has over 30 years of experience working as a former producer/director for the BBC, C4, and other international broadcasters in News, Current Affairs, Religious, Documentary, World Service & Multicultural Programming.
Her films have won awards, been presented as evidence in inquiries, and led to changes in policy.
Mustakim Hasnath - Investigative journalist and current News Editor and Specialist Crime Producer at Sky News.
Mustakim has worked as a News Editor at ITV and ITN, and has produced various investigative documentaries across the BBC. He is passionate about supporting young talent get into the industry.
Narzra Ahmed - Freelance music, film and lifestyle journalist with bylines in NME, Cosmopolitan, The Telegraph etc.
Following her graduation from City's MA Magazine Journalism course in 2021, Narzra has also worked as a sub-editor for Digital Spy and is currently a trustee for PressPad Charitable Foundation.
