Speaker: Dr. Dan Philps, Head of Rothko Investment Strategies
Abstract
The investment management sector is only just starting to adapt to the transformative potential of artificial intelligence (AI).
As the industry starts to evolve, a clear divide has already emerged between groups poised to harness AI's capabilities and those at risk from its advancements.
Dr. Dan Philps will address the fabulous opportunities available for investment managers that are able to pivot from traditional methods to AI-driven investment strategies.
Whatever a manager’s aims, attendees will hear that the ability to exploit AI’s potential is being hampered by a lack of appropriately experienced managers, a lack of appropriately skilled resources, and under-evolved safety measures required for AI-driven investing.
This disparity between ambition and reality not only poses risks for investors but also carves out opportunities for tech-savvy finance professionals.
The presentation will further delve into the role of large language models (LLMs) in investment management and highlight key attributes AI systems should have, including interpretability and continual learning.
Attend Dr. Philps' session to gain insights into AI's current impact, its future potential, and the emerging opportunities for Data Science MSc graduates in the investment domain.
