In this interactive masterclass, Alice Genevois, Kevin Fernandes & Jeff Sharpe from Lloyds Banking Group will guide you through the key principles of data & AI/ML ethics and the current regulatory context. The speakers will also showcase a best practice responsible framework and ethical AI toolkit.

Alice Genevois – Chapter Lead, Data Science & Applied Ethics at Lloyds Banking Group
Alice’s background is in consulting & data mining/statistics with 10 years’ experience.
Over the past 4 years, she has worked at Lloyds Banking Group and led 3 large programmes of work within the Data Science & Applied Ethics space. Her mission is to ensure responsible, safe & ethical delivery of models in the bank, to protect customers and colleagues.
Over the past few years, her team has grown significantly, and she now leads Product Owners, data scientists, data engineers, scrum masters and business analysts. She is passionate about her work and has presented at various forums and conferences on the importance of responsible machine learning & AI.
Jeffrey Sharpe, Data Engineer at Lloyds Banking Group
Jeffrey is a Senior Data Engineer at Lloyds Banking group, where he has spent 4 years developing automated data pipelines and processes for the bank.
He specialises in DevOps and Software Engineering on Google Cloud Platform, where he has worked to develop control frameworks for data migrations onto the cloud.
He currently leads a team developing an “Ethical AI Toolkit”, attempting to embed Data Ethics controls into the Machine Learning products the bank produces.
Kevin Fernandes, Data Science Lifecycle Product Owner at Lloyds Banking Group
Kevin is a Data Science Product Owner at Lloyds Banking group, with 5 years of experience in Financial Services, developing solutions for Tier 1 banks around Data Management, Data Quality, Data Strategy and Machine Learning.
Over the past 2 years, he has worked at Lloyds Banking Group within the Chief Data Office to ensure best practices in Data Management, Data Quality and Data Science are adopted within business teams to deliver safely, ethically and at pace.
Over the past year, he has been leading a team developing an “ML Ops Framework”, attempting to embed all data best practices and governance required for project teams to deliver Change and deploy ML models in production reliably and efficiently.
He is passionate about his work and about emphasising how Data Science and Data Management best practices should coexist to get to an ML Ops state at LBG.
