The fifth (and final) event of the Midwifery and Global Maternal Health Webinar series.
Abstract
Accessible and safe abortions are a key function of maternal, reproductive and sexual health. In this webinar we further examine abortion care in the UK context through a reproductive justice lens to better understand the barriers, facilitators and inequities.
We will provide a snapshot of 'Reproductive Justice' as a critical and intersectional feminist framework to address injustices in maternal, reproductive and sexual health and wellbeing; whilst simultaneously thinking deeply about the role of midwifery care that expands the boundaries of birth.
This webinar may be of interest to anyone wanting to know more about abortion care, reproductive justice and black feminisms.
The Midwifery and Global Maternal Health webinar series are developed to supplement studies in midwifery and global maternal health, stimulate conversation and gather in a community of learning.
We invite both graduate and undergraduate students in both midwifery and global maternal health in addition to any other students and staff members who are interested in the topics. This webinar is also open to the public.
Attendance at City events is subject to our terms and conditions.
