Abstract
After a run of sold out shows and workshops across London, this October Underground Barz brings their Spoken Word Poetry writing experience to City University.
The workshop is designed to nurture and provide a platform to support the next generation of spoken word artists and will be led by respected poet, influencer and Underground Barz co-founder Chloe Carterr.
This creative in residence programme will provide participants with the unique opportunity to write and perform, meet likeminded creatives and develop their craft with confidence.
The session will include ice breaker games, guided writing exercises, group activities and discussions.
Harnessing the power of spoken word and poetry, we aim to connect participants with themselves and others on their creative journey.
About the speaker
Chloe Carterr has steadily built a reputation over the past few years as a highly sought after poet, influencer and creative facilitator.
She had designed and led campaigns for everyone from high street brands such as Spar Supermarket to boutique fashion house Barbour.
Her most recent Black History Month campaign for TikTok celebrated the beauty of black hair and has reached a staggering 9 million people online and counting.
About Underground Barz
The Underground Barz poetry experience began just over a year ago when Chloe and her partner Unified King decided to create an empowered space for poets to share food, conversation and stories.
What began in their home soon grew to become a live event held in partnership with BMT Culture Hub that would attract a dedicated following every month to witness some of the most exciting emerging musicians and poets in the London.
To date, the likes of Louis The Hippie, Takunda and Big Scoop have all graced their stage.
Attendance at City events is subject to our terms and conditions.
