Dr. Sachiko Scheuing, European Privacy Officer
Dr. Sachiko Scheuing serves as European Privacy Officer for Acxiom, an IPG company.
In her role, Sachiko combines 20 years of theoretical and practice experience in the marketing and advertising industries to manage Acxiom’s government affairs and legal and regulatory compliance across Europe.
She also provides country-specific and broader European-level advice to Acxiom clients and colleagues about data protection and privacy matters.
Sachiko joined Acxiom in October 1999 and her first role was as Acxiom’s chief analyst. She is serving her third term as the co-chairwoman of the Federation of European Direct and interactive Marketing Association (FEDMA), based in Brussels.
Sachiko also contributes articles to trade magazines and academic journals. Besides FEDMA, she is active in many European and global privacy and marketing associations as well as think tanks.
Before joining Acxiom, Sachiko worked at Hyatt International Hotels and Resorts as database marketing manager, based in London. Sachiko holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Boston University, USA, and a PhD from the University of Derby, UK.
She and her husband have two children and live near Frankfurt, Germany.
In 2020, Sachiko received the DataIQ Professor Derek Holder Lifetime Achievement Award for her outstanding contribution to and exceptional leadership in the data industry.
David Keens, Head of Product EMEA for Acxiom
David is Head of Product EMEA for Acxiom, the IPG business that enables people-based marketing everywhere.
David is a lifelong tech geek and has worked in marketing, technology and data for 20+ years. He has led the technical approach for many of Acxiom’s clients across financial services, telecommunications and travel verticals.
He has helped navigate how to connect complex business units for his clients. For Virgin Media, he linked customer data across a complex quad- play telco business, forming a single customer identity used across Virgin Media’s marketing activities and decisions with Adobe and Pega.
For BT, he solved a large-scale and complex data management challenge with data on 12 million customers and 80,000 product combinations, across multiple systems, achieving a quality level of more than 99.5.
David is a co-chair for Acxiom’s LGBTQ+ business resource group and he is an active member of Acxiom’s DE&I Council. In addition to this, he volunteers as a STEM Ambassador in schools.
