Her compositions often mix elements of visual art, music theater and concert music.
To do so, she likes to make use of noisy sounds, which are often produced by unusual means and continued in their free unfolding.
About the Speaker:
Composer Carola Bauckholt, born in Krefeld in 1959, studied with Mauricio Kagel at the Cologne University of Music after working for several years at the Theater am Marienplatz (TAM) in Krefeld.
Since 2015 she has been teaching composition at the Anton Bruckner Private University in Linz, Austria.
She is the director of the music section of Akademie der Künste in Berlin and member of the North Rhine-Westphalian Academy of Sciences, Humanities and the Arts.
