Dear IAEA friends,
Good news and bad news!
Let’s start with the bad news. Unfortunately, it will not be possible to host a regular in person conference in London this year. Even if restrictions were fully lifted by September this year, neither City nor Goldsmiths University support the planning of in person conferences at the moment, and this is unlikely to change anytime soon.
BUT! It’s been too long since we all let our empirically aesthetic hair down. Therefore, the organising team of IAEA 2021 and the board of IAEA have decided the only solution is to move IAEA online.
Hosting the conference online means more zoom but also offers new opportunities. For example, it allows us to engage with new ways of communicating scientific research. Online conferences facilitate participation and can reach larger and more diverse audiences. Performing and visual artists across the world have been quick to adapt and we are excited to showcase some of their work as part of the conference!
Online IAEA 2021 will take place between the 1st and 3rd of September 2021. The deadline for submitting abstracts for symposia, talks and posters is the 15th of May 2021. We will soon provide more specific updates on fees and registration procedures.
A happy Easter break and we look forward to finally catching up with you all in a few months!
