Are you staying away from home and in London over the Christmas break?
Join James Birkett, Director of Registry & Student Services at City and Professor Andrew Sanders, Emeritus Professor Durham University, for a walk in and around the City of London. This is a great opportunity to walk off the indulgence of the holidays and to meet other students safely.
The walk will start at the steps of St Paul’s Cathedral and ending up at Smithfield Market. The walk will take in the major historic landmarks of commercial and legal London, including the Bank of England, Mansion House, the Guildhall, Royal Exchange and the Royal Courts of Justice.
Professor Sanders is a former President of the Dickens Fellowship and Editor of The Dickensian. His books include The Short Oxford History of English Literature (1994) and Charles Dickens’s London (2011). He has taken many walking tours around London, including for the British Academy and Yale University.
The tour will be outside only. Social distancing will be in place, and participants will be requested to wear a face coverings when we are stationary during the walk.
Meeting point: Paternoster Square, by steps of St. Paul’s Cathedral, EC4M 8AD
