City Law School academics help shape Cuba’s intellectual property (IP) policy
Dr Luke McDonagh and Dr Enrico Bonadio collaborated with The University of Havana, Cuba, through a workshop (May 13th to 15th) assisting Cuban colleagues in shaping an intellectual property (IP) policy aimed at incentivising the creation and commercialisation of innovative technologies.
In association with Dr Ana Alba of the National Autonomous University of Mexico, their visit to Cuba aimed at adapting IP principles and rules followed by European and American universities to the Cuban social and political context.
Dr Bonadio said he was pleased with City’s participation in the workshop, which also included University of Havana academics Dr Vilma Hidalgo de los Santos (Vice Rector); Dr Marta Moreno, (Dean of the University of Havana Law School); Dr. Liudmila Morán (Professor of Law); and Engineer Alberto Agraz (Office for the Transfer of Research Results).
