We are delighted to announce that Executive MBA graduate Barry Corbett has won the esteemed annual prize from the Worshipful Company of International Bankers (WCIB) for his dissertation, ‘Collaborative innovation or disruptive competition? Blockchain, fintech and investment banks.’

Barry’s dissertation was selected by the panel to win a certificate of merit and £300. The prize is awarded to participants whose dissertations are related to the City, international banking or an aspect of finance.

Barry was presented with his award by Sarikas, WCIB Liveryman and fellow Cass alumni, alongside Professor Marianne Lewis, Dean of Cass Business School.

Barry said, "I’d like to extend my gratitude to the WCIB for this award, I’m truly honoured. To all at Cass, thank you for the tremendous support and the enlightening experience you provided over the course of the Executive MBA. As an alumnus hopefully, I can join Omiros in promoting such an outstanding institution for many years to come."

As a result of winning, Barry is also eligible to qualify for the annual WCIB Lombard Prize competition, which includes the winners of the WCIB prizes at the universities.

The Lombard prize was won by Cass alumnus Pearce Watson in 2015.
