Dr Julie Voce, Head of Digital Education and Deputy Director (LEaD) attended the ceremony to collect the award at the UCISA Leadership conference in Edinburgh.

She said it was an honour to represent City at the awards and hear about the inspirational work of others.

“I am delighted that City’s work in supporting digital education has been recognised by UCISA, following on from our success in the Association for Learning Technology awards in 2023,” Dr Voce said.

It is a real achievement for the team to be able to showcase how we have worked in partnership across City to transform digital education.

“It was an honour for me to represent City at the awards ceremony in Edinburgh and to hear the inspiring stories of other award winners.”

The collaborative LEaD team worked with staff and students on strategic initiatives and operational activities across the university.

One of the team’s projects includes the Digital Accessibility Project which introduced a caption correction service and improved the accessibility score of Moodle materials from 57 per cent to 75 per cent. The Student Digital Skills Scheme has seen 5,700 students sign up to LinkedIn Learning.

Professor Pam Parker, Director of Learning Enhancement and Development (LEaD) said:

“It is great to have the team and City recognised for ongoing activities to transform the student experience.

The projects are hugely important in the journey to ensure our programmes provide equity, a celebration of diversity and are inclusive.

“The transition of many of the projects to be integrated into practice demonstrates the commitment of the team to ensure these are sustainable.”
