Entry requirements

City is one of the most ideal institutions for students wanting to study in London. We have a comprehensive selection of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and are in the top 10 universities for graduate starting salaries in the UK.

Entry requirements will vary from course to course and the information on this page is only intended to be a general guide. For individual course requirements, please refer to the course pages, or contact Patrick  Douse.

Undergraduate

  • Qualifications from Argentinian high school system are not accepted for direct entry and so students would be required to undertake our International Foundation programme at INTO City, which then offers the opportunity for guaranteed entry into City’s bachelor programmes
  • International qualifications such as A level and IB are accepted for direct entry, and details of grades requirements for these qualifications can be found on the course pages.

Postgraduate

Applicants will be considered for most postgraduate courses with a good bachelor’s degree from a recognised University. Entry requirements will vary by course for more information about specific course requirements please contact us.

English language requirements

English requirements can vary, please check under each course page. Applicants holding offers conditional of English may be eligible for pre-sessional English prior to the start of their course.

  • Undergraduate - IELTS 6.0 is required (IELTS 6.5 for business and IELTS 7.0 for journalism and law courses)
  • Postgraduate -  IELTS 6.5 is required (IELTS 7.0 for business, journalism and law courses)

Secure English Language Test (SELT)

For students requiring visas, a Secure English Language Test (SELT) is usually required. A full list of acceptable English Language qualifications can be found at Tier 4 English Requirements.

Pre-sessional English programme

Students who do not meet the English language requirements for their course may have the option to undertake our Pre-sessional English programme at INTO City prior to entry.
