There is consensus that the economic growth is slowing down, putting companies at risk of failure. However, governments seem to act mainly in reaction to high profile cases. For instance, this is the approach recently followed in England after the collapse of Carillion (2018) and Thomas Cook (2019).
There is urgent need to discuss and suggest regulatory solutions on the basis of independent academic research and informed views from the industry and professionals.
The Cross-Border Corporate Insolvency & Commercial Law Research Group (CI&CL) Conference will take place on the premises of City, University of London on 12th June 2020 to discuss the need for regulatory reforms in the area, from a domestic, European and cross-border perspective.
Now in its 4th edition, the conference brings together senior and promising junior scholars as well as regulators and practitioners who wish to present their research, informed opinions and cases they have been working on to a multi-national specialist audience in the field of corporate insolvency and commercial law.
This one-day event aims to promote fruitful research collaboration between its participants and to encourage their integration in a community of legal scholars. A small fee will be charged to cover venue and catering costs.
For further information on the programme, venue and/or accommodation facilities please contact the event organiser, Eugenio Vaccari.
