The HISS @ 10

This year is the 10th anniversary of the Huddersfield Immersive Sound System (HISS), a loudspeaker orchestra based at the Yorkshire town’s university. Created by Pierre Alexandre Tremblay in 2008 with a view to explore all types of immersive contemporary electronic music practice, its intricate and careful design has enabled a wide range of concerts to sound involving, expansive and monolithic.

To celebrate this first decade, the HISS will be installed at City, for a concert of works by the community of composers that have gathered around the system through this period. The programme will include pieces by current and past Huddersfield students, as well as staff members, showcasing the breadth of today's electronic music.
