Women in Journalism are combining forces with Journalists' Charity and City University Journalism department to bring together well-seasoned editors and bright young sparks at our How to be an Intern seminar.
Panellist Aidan McGurran Managing Editor, Mirror Group Newspapers who oversees the trainee scheme and says “I am the one that goes through all the applications, narrows it down from about six hundred applicants to about twelve or so and then lead interview panel to select final three. And I then look after trainees progress through three year scheme. “

We will discuss how to get work experience, how to get the most out of your work experience and how to bag yourself freelance shifts!
The panel discussion will be followed by networking drinks and nibbles supported by the Journalists' Charity, who have invited a swathe of influential editors, ex-editors and journalists for you to meet.
An optional £5 donation can be paid to Journalists' Charity, who help journalists in times of financial difficulty
This is set to be a brilliant evening, one certainly not to be missed for aspiring journalists hoping to get their foot in the door.
