Speaker: Max Schrems, Doctoral candidate in Law, Vienna University

Max SchremsGLOBALLAW@CITY in collaboration with ILAG and ISEL are delighted to host a talk with Max Schrems, the Austrian law student who initiated litigation against Facebook initially in Ireland then before the Court of Justice in Luxembourg and succeeded in having the Safe Harbour Agreement struck down. He has been instrumental in challenging the protection of citizen data in the post-Snowdon era. His talk will outline his litigation and the evolution of his litigation towards the new EU-US Privacy Shield which affects the lives of so many citizens and businesses on both sides of the Atlantic.
