Ben Schoeman, one of South Africa's foremost pianists, joins City University Symphony Orchestra to perform Saint-Saëns' last piano concerto, popularly known as 'The Egyptian'. Written on one of Saint-Saëns frequent winter vacations to Egypt, the music is infused with exotic influences from Java, Spain and the Middle East. Grieg's lively Symphonic Dances and Bell Ringing (Klokkenlang) complete the programme as the Orchestra makes a return visit to LSO St Luke's.
