A day of talks, panels, networking and training for music teachers, with a focus on the student transition from Music A Level to degree level study in Music.
Featuring leading educationalist Paul Harris as keynote speaker and Jo Cleary (Senior Manager, Edexcel), who will deliver an update on proposed changes to the A level Music syllabus. The event will also include a panel discussion bringing together first-year music students from London universities and conservatoires to discuss their experiences of moving from A level to HE study in Music.
CPD workshops for teachers (90 minutes) include:
Teaching Composition at A Level (Jim Harrison, Head of Music, Latymer School)
Music Technology: Synthesis and Effects (A practical workshop focusing on sound manipulation techniques for A-Level Music Technology Unit 3C, delivered by Ross Purves, Lecturer in Education Studies, De Montfort University and Diana Salazar, Lecturer in Music, City University London.)
Studio Recording (A practical workshop on vocal recording and processing led by Will Goring.)
Gamelan (A practical workshop led by Andy Channing, principal tutor of the LSO Discovery gamelan education programme.)
Practical workshops are limited to 20 participants. Please indicate your first and second choice of workshop when booking.
