Sara Dewson and Helen Stevens will present the key findings from a series of research reports by the Institute for Employment Studies published in 2010 and 2011.The research examines the results from a two-wave survey of ESA claimants providing detailed information about the characteristics of claimants and their short-term employment trajectories over a period of around 18 months.
Sara Dewson is an experienced project manager who has contributed to evaluation studies at local, national and international levels for key public policy clients. Much of her work has centred around the issues of labour market disadvantage, disability, welfare to work policy, benefit and welfare reform, and skills.
Helen Stevens has a particular interest in disadvantage and employment and much of her work has specialised in hard-to-reach groups that are excluded from the labour market. Helen has worked on projects which have called for a number of methods and approaches and she is experienced in a range of qualitative and quantitative research techniques.
