Careers and Employability
The Careers Service, Student Development and Outreach departments provide a professional, high-quality careers and information service for students and recent graduates of City, in collaboration with employers and other University academic and service departments.
Our aim is to support and develop our students by providing the tools they need to enhance their employability.
Our teams encompass careers, employability, and student development activities, including careers resources and appointments, skills sessions, employer events, community volunteering, professional mentoring, and City Buddies. We also have strong links with City's Widening Participation Outreach team.
If you have any questions about how you can improve your job prospects, get involved in the community and help your fellow students, come and speak to us in E125, Drysdale Building.
From March 2020 and into the 2020/21 academic year, all of our activities are operating via online and virtual technologies. We aim to maintain our quality of guidance and support to students during this time.
2020 Virtual Career Fairs
Our three annual Career Fairs will be fully remote this year. We are offering live online chat, a series of employer presentations with Q&A, and individual appointment slots to speak to employers.
- Banking, Finance and Economics Fair: Wednesday 30th September 2pm - 5pm
- Law and Social Sciences Fair: Wednesday 14th October 2pm - 5pm
- Engineering & Technology Fair: Wednesday 21st October 2pm - 5pm
On the day of the fair, live online chat will be available with our employer exhibitors here on this page. Until then, learn about our exhibitors and sign up for the employer presentations via Zoom and individual conversations with employers via MS Teams on our Fair Sharepoint.
We look forward to seeing you at the fair!
Please note: Postgraduate Business students should attend the MSc Virtual Fair. Due to limited availability, presentations and appointments at the Banking, Finance and Economics fair are reserved for Business UG and non-Business PG students.
