Work Based Project  CPD

The module will provide an opportunity to undertake continuing professional development (CPD), based in the work environment and which enables an individual to identify, in conjunction with the employer and the University, a specific project that will facilitate and enable the development of specific skills in relation to an identified area of professional practice.

Eligibility

The module is open to all students registered on a relevant degree programme. The module can also be taken as a stand-alone CPD module. For students who have not previously studied at HE level 2 or level 3, an interview will be required.

English Requirements

For those students whose first language is not English one of the following qualifications is also required:

  • IELTS: 7.0
  • TOEFL (internet-based): 107

What will I learn?

The module will enable you to:

  • Undertake a work based project, identifying your learning objectives, in an identified area of professional practice
  • Critically appraise research and literature relating to specialist area of professional practice, and outline strategies for introducing and utilising the findings.

Teaching and Assessment

Mode of delivery
Mode of delivery consists of group discussion of work based experience, seminars, tutorials and self-directed study.

Assessment
Assessment consists of a negotiated 3000 word work based project, essay or report.

Funding is available through trusts.
