  • The foundations for becoming an effective coach;
  • Coaching roles, benefits, models and applications;
  • Communication skills, e.g. listening, questioning, self-management, relationship building, e.g. creating rapport, and basic NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) techniques;
  • How to design effective working relationships and coaching partnerships;
  • Professional coaching tools to improve self-management, enhance communication, and change-limiting beliefs;
  • How to incorporate professional coaching tools at work, at home, and/or in a one-to-one coaching setting.



Prerequisite knowledge

Students must have a dedicated interest in coaching and self development.

Students should be committed to attending 10 weekly two-hour evening classes to complete the course.

English requirements

Applicants must be proficient in written and spoken English.

Teaching & assessment

The course will be facilitated from a coaching perspective and therefore will be both interactive and dynamic.

Informal assessment will take place through group discussion, class room activities, and questions and answers sessions as guided by your tutor.

Tutor information

  • Megan Thomas

    Megan is a trained and Certified Co-Active Coach with over seven years of experience. Her focus areas include career development, leadership and entrepreneurship. She coaches individuals and groups, and facilitates workshops.

    Outside of coaching, Megan volunteers with Parent Gym, running skills and confidence workshops to help parents support the wellbeing of their children.

    Prior to becoming a coach, Megan worked in digital project management. She is also a qualified Personal Trainer, earned a certificate in Web Design and Technology from San Francisco State University, and holds a degree in Psychology from Clark University, Massachusetts.
