City Short Courses: Studying a New Language

Study Arabic at City

Already know some Arabic? Looking for beginners training? Want to talk confidently to native speakers? Whatever your goal may be, our interactive sessions will help you take your language learning to the next level.

As a central London university, we know how hectic life can be. That’s why we teach our courses part time in the evenings – join us for classes after work and fit in extra study whenever you have time. We also offer flexible start dates – you can pick from October, January and April/May.

Use our level charts to find the right course for you

We split our language courses into different levels, from basic sessions for beginners to more advanced groups. Every level has three parts – you can take them separately – or enrol on the full year for the best value.

Beginners - year 1

Lower Intermediate - year 2

Intermediate - year 3

Upper Intermediate - year 4

Debate complex topics, improve your fluency. We’ll help you communicate with native speakers with ease and boost your accuracy when writing.

Working towards CEFR B1/B2 level.

Join us here if you have:

  • completed our Intermediate syllabus or a similar course
  • a good or recent A-level in Arabic
  • reached low CEFR B1 level Arabic
  • studied Arabic formally for 180- 220 hours.

Advanced - year 5

As a highly proficient Arabic speaker, you will be striving to communicate in Arabic at university level.

Working towards CEFR C1 level.

Join us here if you have:

  • completed our Upper Intermediate syllabus or a similar course
  • reached CEFR B1/B2 level Arabic
  • studied Arabic formally for 240- 280 hours.
