Funding and finance for Aviation applicants

Financial support and planning is a key issue for postgraduate students, with requirements differing from person to person. Find out what support is available to you.

Payment of fees

Fees for entry in the academic year 2020/21 are payable as follows:

  • £7000 on initial registration to the MSc.
  • £7000 on the anniversary of your intake to join Year 2 of the MSc.
  • £7000 on the anniversary of your intake to join Year 3 of the MSc.
  • Or alternatively, in one payment on initial registration.

Fees for each year of study can be paid in two instalments: 50% at registration and 50% at a later date (to be confirmed by the Finance team).

Fees can be paid online (as part of the online registration) or by cheque or bank transfer.

The fee covers the course, which should be completed within three years. Students should aim to complete a minimum of three modules (45 credits) in each registration year.

Should you remain registered beyond three years, an additional fee of £1000 is payable at the anniversary of the intake date of the fourth year and then again at the fifth year.

If you require any support in this process, the Income Team will be able to help you. For further information, please visit their pages or email registration-finance@city.ac.uk.

Honourable Company of Air Pilots Bursaries (MSc Aviation Management students only)

Every year we expect to offer a number of bursaries awarded by the Honourable Company of Air Pilots (HCAP). These bursaries are intended to provide financial support for students who not have any other source of financial support towards fees. To be eligible to apply for a bursary you need to be a current student studying any one of the four MSc Aviation Management programmes.
