City students start new Psychology Society

Society offers chance to learn more about psychology through a range of events and socials

City students in the Department of Psychology have established a new Psychology Society.

Hosting a wide range of events, ranging from guest lectures from prominent psychologists to welcome back events, Q&A sessions with third years, and movie nights, the Society provides a great opportunity to find out more about psychology at City and the subject more widely.

City student Pavel Piotrowicz, who founded the Society, said:

“Why do we behave the way we do? Joining our society is a great chance to understand the psychology behind everyday behaviours, meet like-minded people, and broaden your interests in the field of psychology.

"We will be hosting a free lunch for all members, as well as inviting researchers to give eye-opening talks about various fascinating topics. On top of that, we will seek to arrange sessions focusing on psychology-related careers where experts in their profession will share their experiences and organize social events where you can mingle with psychology students from all years. Don’t miss out and join us!”

To join, students need to be a current City University London student and a member of City University London Students’ Union, which is only £2 for all current City University Students and alumni. Join here.

Forthcoming events include:

February 25th - Movie Night

March 10th - Welcome Back Event

March 14th-18th- "Heroes of Neurons"

March 24th - Prof. David Shanks, UCL. Title: “The replication crisis in psychology: Worse than we thought?”

March 31st - End of Term Event (details TBC)
