Rob Woodward appointed as Pro-Chancellor of City University London

Rob Woodward has been appointed as Pro-Chancellor of City University London and will chair the University Council from February 2012.

nullMr Woodward succeeds The Hon Apurv Bagri as Chair of Council. Mr Bagri is stepping down from Council having served the normal nine year appointment term for members.

Rob Woodward said "I very much appreciate this vote of confidence from my fellow Council members. City University London is a strong, distinctive University with a clear vision for its future. I look forward to working with my Council colleagues and in particular Professor Paul Curran, our Vice-Chancellor, in implementing our ambitious Strategic Plan".

Professor Curran said "I am delighted that Rob Woodward has agreed to become Pro-Chancellor and Chair of the Council of City University London. He has been an excellent Deputy Pro-Chancellor and an enthusiastic supporter of the academic direction we are now taking".

Rob Woodward is currently CEO of the STV Group plc. He has previously held senior roles in UBS, Deloitte and Channel 4. He is a Council member of the National Youth Theatre and a trustee of the National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts.  He is a graduate of Durham University and the University of Edinburgh.
