The trio, whose other members are Carolina Braga (piano) and Nikolaj Sajko (cello), performed music by Bohuslav Martinů, Gabriel Fauré, Hillary Tann, Amanda Jane Fox, and Lucijan Marija Škerjanc. The repertoire was chosen not only for its contrast of styles and periods but also because no two composers are of the same nationality.
In the news feature (in Portuguese and English), the trio explain how they met each other, how their ensemble was formed (Daniela and Carolina have known each other since their school days), where they currently study, and how they are endeavouring to motivate younger people to appreciate classical music.
Daniela has benefited from fully-funded tuition in Solo Performance (flute) with a tutor from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama throughout the three years of her BMus programme at City. She is also writing a dissertation on extended techniques in contemporary flute repertoire.
