Title of thesis: Does the media help make hate speech mainstream? Legitimization of the manosphere on social media during the Depp vs. Heard trial
Oct 2023
Summary of research
In this research, Yasmine is interested in investigating if contemporary journalistic narratives and dynamics help to legitimise masculinist hate speech on social media. In order to do that, she intends to analyse one of the most media-reported trials with Hollywood actors: the one that involved Johnny Depp and Amber Heard.
