About
Overview
Jose's research focuses on the current challenges at the interface of recent data policy and regulation and copyright law. His thesis identifies the clashes and overlaps that occur at the interplay of new policy on data technologies (from IoT to AI) and the digital copyright acquis, critically reviewing the solutions that are being implemented via derogations and the creation of new limitations and exceptions, in order to also explore how can data policy and regulation contribute to reform copyright law regarding access and users' rights according to a fundamental rights framework.
Jose's research is supervised by Prof. Enrico Bonadio and Prof. Marc Mimler. Jose's research is the recipient of the Conacyt (National Council for Science and Technology) Scholarship from the Mexican Government.
