Overview
Abdul Basit Hafeez is an Industrial Doctoral candidate affiliated with the Artificial Intelligence Research Centre, CitAI, at the City, University of London. He is currently working under the supervision of Prof. Eduardo Alonso and Dr. Atif Riaz. In collaboration with EIT Digital (till 2022) and the Bosch group, Abdul Basit Hafeez's research focuses on the development of AI-enabled algorithms for predictive maintenance in connected vehicles.
Abdul Basit Hafeez holds two master's degrees in Machine Learning and Data Engineering. His professional experience includes successfully implementing machine learning solutions in cloud and big data settings. His ongoing research work encompasses a variety of algorithms related to sequential prediction and textual representation. This includes expertise in areas such as embeddings, RNNs, LSTMs, Autoencoders, and Attention mechanisms. Alongside his work in predictive maintenance, Abdul Basit Hafeez also displays a keen interest in applying these algorithms to fields such as Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Recommendation Systems.
Outside of his academic and professional commitments, Abdul Basit Hafeez nurtures a passion for software development. During his leisure time, he finds joy in reading and traveling.
