Åsa studied for a master's degree in Food Policy at City, University of London, and graduated in 2012.
Åsa’s first Master's, from Stockholm, was in economics. Her interest in food emerged later when she worked in Rome for the Food and Agriculture Organisation and then in Washington DC, where she focused on agriculture at the World Bank.
Åsa undertook the Master's because she wanted to become a better technical expert in her field. The course helped her to think more broadly and gave her arguments a more secure academic foundation. In particular, it showed her the extent to which agriculture is inextricably connected to diet in one direction and the environment in another. She constantly uses what she learned.
