Aminah Prianca Karim graduated on the Law LLB in 2017. She is currently a lecturer and cohort leader at the University of Hertfordshire teaching various law and criminology modules. Aminah also teaches at The City Law School and is qualified barrister.
What motivated you to pursue the LLB Law?
My pursuit of an LLB Law degree was driven by a genuine fascination with the intricate and dynamic nature of the legal system. From a young age, I have been captivated by the role of law in shaping societies, resolving disputes, and upholding justice.
This interest has grown as I explored legal literature and case studies, recognising the profound impact legal decisions can have on individuals and communities. Furthermore, my motivation stems from a sincere desire to contribute meaningfully to society and make a positive difference.
I view the study of law not only as an academic endeavour but as a means to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for positive change, fairness promotion, and the protection of rights.
Observing legal professionals in action, whether in courtrooms or through advocacy efforts, has been a powerful inspiration for me to pursue my legal education, all the way through to my current PhD in Law.
The prospect of engaging with diverse legal issues and the opportunity to advocate for justice further fuels my enthusiasm for this field.
What are you doing now? How did The City Law School prepare you for your current role?
The City Law School has been a cornerstone in shaping my professional journey, leading me to my current role as a lecturer. Starting with my undergraduate law degree, postgraduate masters and training as a barrister, City provided a rich and practical foundation that has profoundly influenced my approach to legal practice.
Continuing my academic pursuits at The City Law School for my master's degrees further enriched my understanding of legal intricacies and honed my analytical skills.
