Overview
Dr Vinyas Mahesh works as a Royal Society Newton International Fellow and Visiting Lecturer in the Department of Engineering at City, University of London since June 2022. His research mainly focuses on developing artificial intelligence assisted tools for vibration control of aerospace structures. Alongside, he rigorously works on smart structures analysis, low-velocity impact of composite structures and additive manufacturing of recyclable/multifunctional composite structures. He has also served as a CV Raman Fellow (one of the prestigious fellowships in India) at Indian Institute of Science from June 2019- Feb 2021.
His research works have led to more than 150 publications in international Journals, conferences and book chapters. Very recently, he was elected as the Early Career Editorial Board Member for reputed journals such as 'Defence Technology' and 'International Journal of Smart and Nano Materials'. In addition, he has featured in the World's top 2% scientists list curated by Stanford University consecutively for the past four years.
His main teaching activities cover subjects such as structural mechanics, finite element method and composites at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
